Components and libraries
The 249 Beep.Skia components, flowchart shapes and their flow direction, and your own reusable library.
The Beep.Skia libraries
The Beep.Skia libraries panel embeds 249 components across 16 diagram families. Each shape shows a small preview; click it to insert it. Search looks through every family at once, by shape or family name. The family list puts the common families first (FlowChart, UML, ERD, Network, Mind Map, State Machine) and the specialist ones under More families. The star beside a shape keeps it in Favourites (up to 60) and Recently used holds the last 12 shapes you inserted; both are remembered on this device, and a shape a later version no longer has is removed from them with a note. Previews are drawn on your device the first time and kept for that version of SimpleDraw.
Select an inserted component to change its named properties, dimensions and supported styles. Apply property is undoable. Complex property values use JSON, and an invalid value leaves the component unchanged. Some family components draw panels or charts; inserting one does not provide a data source or run its domain workflow.
Flowchart shapes and flow direction
FlowChart includes the process, decision and start/end steps with their label, colours and border, and 33 more flowchart shapes. Connected workflow inserts three nodes with two connectors as one undoable operation.
Most flowchart shapes connect down their sides: inputs on the left, outputs on the right. For a flow that runs top to bottom, Connection points in Style switches the selected shapes to Top and bottom: inputs run along the top edge and outputs along the bottom, each on the shape's own outline, in order across the flow. The shapes with a direction are:
Process, Start/End, Decision, Predefined process, Database, Preparation, Input/Output, Manual operation, Document, Documents, Delay, Manual input, Display, Internal storage, Stored data, Extract, Merge, Loop limit, Collate, Card, Summing junction and OR.
- A decision connects at its tips: the input at the left tip, "yes" (its first output) at the right tip and "no" at the bottom tip; a third output takes the top tip. Top to bottom it turns a quarter: input at the top, "yes" at the bottom, "no" at the right.
- An extract triangle points up in a top-to-bottom flow, a document takes its outputs along its wavy bottom, a display along its curve and a merge at its point; the two circles spread their ports over their top and bottom.
- Loops, fork, join, off-page reference, tape, connector and the note shapes have fixed connection points and no choice.
- Lay out top to bottom (or bottom to top) switches the shapes it arranges to Top and bottom in the same undo step, and left to right (or right to left) switches them back. A top-to-bottom Mermaid chart arrives that way, and a quick-connect step connects the way the one before it does. Connectors stay on the same ports and follow them.
Reuse a library
Select useful objects, open Library, enter an entry name and choose Save selection. Insert adds a fresh copy and Undo removes the whole insertion. Connectors between selected nodes are kept; edges to objects outside the selection are left out. Removing an entry does not remove the drawing, and Undo removal restores that entry.
Download library keeps an editable portable copy, and Import library validates and merges entries without replacing the board. An Excalidraw library (.excalidrawlib) imports the same way: each item becomes an entry. A library holds up to 100 entries and 32 MiB, each entry up to 100 objects and 8 MiB. If saving is read-only because another tab writes the library, close it and retry, or use a file-only library and download it.
